Two personnel of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) were adjudged the best workers during the 2018 KATH Best Staff Awards ceremony.

The two winners- Dr. John Adabie Appiah and Ms. Jemima Dziedzom Aku Tornu-were each presented with an amount of GHĀ¢15,000.

The staff awards ceremony, which coincided with KATHā€™s annual Thanksgiving Service and Staff Reception, was held on Wednesday.

The awards ceremony is intended to honour hardworking staff and inspire other workers to contribute their quota to the development of KATH.

The current management decided to re-introduce the awards ceremony after three years.

Emmanuel Obiri Akyea, who was adjudged first runner-up, took home GHĀ¢10,000 while Deborah Idun, the second runner-up, won GHĀ¢5,000.

Other KATH staff that emerged as best workers in the other units and departments were also presented with television sets and refrigerators, among others.

The Chief Executive of KATH, Dr. Oheneba Owusu-Danso, congratulated the award winners and also charged the entire KATH staff to work hard this year.

ā€œThe president has declared this year as real action year. I am hopeful with your continuous support 2019 will witness an even greater improvement in the operations of the hospital.ā€

KATH, he said, recorded significant successes last year in terms of infrastructure and operations, urging KATH staff to be disciplined and dedicated to the growth of KATH.
