Koa delegation displaying the awards
Koa Impact Ghana, manufacturer of Ghana’s first ready-to-drink 100% cocoa fruit juice has been honoured at the National Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) Summit and Awards, organised by Global Ovations.
The FMCG event was designed to bring together key industrial players, stakeholders, and enthusiasts to celebrate innovation, resilience, and excellence.
This year’s event themed, “Driving Growth and Innovation: Navigating Ghana’s Digitalisation Agenda in a Recovering Economy” witnessed some selected companies receiving numerous awards.
In August 2023, Koa inaugurated its second factory, the largest cocoa fruit processing factory in Africa.
Dr. Haeberli, Swiss Ambassador speaking on the economic importance of the factory, stated that the factory was established to add value and provide additional income to thousands of smallholder cocoa farmers in rural Ghana through the use of integrated modern technology to contribute to sustainable growth in rural Ghana.
“Many Ghanaians largely depend on the cocoa sector for their livelihood. In these economically challenging times, the establishment of the factory is remarkable as it will add value to the cocoa farmer” she added.
Koa currently works with over 3,000 smallholder farmers and has up-cycled over a thousand (1,000) tons of cocoa fruit pulp, that was until that day, overlooked in the cocoa industry. The full operation of their new factory will see an additional 10,000 smallholder farmers working with them.
Chief Executive Officer of Global Ovation, Gideon Raji, commended Koa for their unwavering commitment to excellence despite the uncertainties brought forth by global economic factors and increased taxation.
He highlighted the significance of resilience and consistency in navigating the ever-evolving landscape of the FMCG industry.
