KOD presenting the items to Chief Inspector Mintah
A policeman who was photographed carrying school kids on his back in the recent Accra floods is receiving great accolades and praises from the public for his services.
On Monday, he was given a surprise of his life by ace radio presenter Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD), who visited the Regional Police Command, where he is stationed, to reward him with an undisclosed amount of cash and a camouflage raincoat.
The policeman was only identified as Chief Inspector Mintah of the Accra Regional Police.
During the storm, he assisted the school kids by carrying some of them on his back to safer grounds.
Photographs of the policeman were published by Adomfmonline.com, which caught the attention of the ace presenter.
Fortunately, he was able to locate Chief Inspector Mintah and donated the items to him.
“There’s nothing wrong with saying thank you to someone who affects humanity and serves his country with all his heart… we all saw pictures of this gallant policeman who decided to rescue women and children in the middle of last Wednesday’s storm… Thank you to him is in order …. y3 daase thank you) Inspector,” KOD said on Instagram on Monday
“I forgot to add some bottles of Kpookeke, will send them so he enjoys at the weekend when he’s off duty. A very big shout out to the Gt. Accra Regional Police especially @yaakod who facilitated this gesture,” he added.
