The suspects
The Weija Divisional Police Command have arrested four suspected robbers after the hoodlums had broken into the residence of their victims and made away with personal belongings.
Following the robbery which took place last Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Ajasco Red Top at Kokrobite, the victims reported the matter to the Weija Police who moved into action.
The suspects; Benjamin Otoo alias Joe, Tony Mensah Yedu alias Big Joe, Bismark Asabre alias Dagbaro and Nana Yaw Arko reportedly broke into their victims’ residence and forcibly made away with their three laptops, an Iphone 8 plus, three Infinix smartphones and Techno Cammon 7. Also made away with were a Bluetooth speaker, an extension board, three phone chargers, two laptop chargers, and an unspecified amount of money, according to the Director General of the Public Affairs Directorate of the Ghana Police Service.
Narrating the development, ACP Kwesi Ofori said “upon receipt of the robbery report, the Weija Police Command embarked upon a special eight-hour covert operation which led to the arrest of Benjamin Otoo, Tony Mensah Yedu and Bismark Asabre at their hideouts at Ajasco Red Top and New Aplaku on Saturday, November 20, 2021.”
Suspect Bismark Asabre reportedly led the police to arrest Nana Yaw Arko from his hideout in Labadi where upon a search 20 assorted phones, a taxi cab, three laptops, motorbike, one locally manufactured pistol, a police vest, one Gota and 14 assorted wristwatches were retrieved.
The four suspects were arraigned yesterday and efforts are continuing to arrest other accomplices to face criminal charges.
The Weija Divisional Police Command’s officers, especially the team which undertook the operation have attracted a deserving commendation from the Police Administration for their hard work and efforts in arresting the four suspects.
The Police Administration have reassured the public that “we will continue to do whatever it takes to make our communities safe and peaceful.”
