Kwabena Agyepong with some NPP supporters
Former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, has filed his nomination to contest in the party’s upcoming presidential primary, scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026.
Kwabena Agyepong, followed by some party supporters, was the first to file his nomination forms yesterday among the other four presidential hopefuls who have also picked nomination forms to contest for the party’s flagbearer race.
Mr. Agyepong, earlier in July, described himself as a unifier who could win the 2028 election and help rebuild and restore hope for the party that is currently rallying its members to unite ahead of the flagbearer race.
Meanwhile, other presidential hopefuls including the former Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Bryan Acheampong; former Member of Parliament for Assin Central and businessman, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong; former Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum; and former Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia are expected to file their nomination in the coming days.
