Kwabenya Gets NHIA Office Complex

Adwoa Safo cutting the sod to commission the office complex

An ultra modern office complex has been built for the National Health Insurance Authority office at Dome-Kwabenya.

The structure has a reception for enquires and waiting, general office, documents control room, MIS Office, accounts office, Manager’s office, conference room, a kitchen, staff washroom, client washroom, security post and other amenities including a vehicle parking lot, all costing 1.5million Ghana Cedis.

The construction of the office was the brainchild of the Member of Parliament for the area, Adwoa Safo and with funds from government.

In an address to officially open the office, Adwoa Safo said Dome-Kwabenya Constituency has a fast growing population and therefore there was the need to construct a municipal NHIA office to serve the people.

“The only existing NHIA Office was a small sub office at Dome, which made operations difficult and the delivery of its services restricted.

“As an MP who has the health of my constituents at heart, I have constructed the Haatso Maternity Clinic, cut the sod to commence the construction of a Clinical Service and OPD Block at Abokobi Health Centre, provided free health screening, and renewed NHIA cards for thousands of my constituents.”

Adwoa Safo urged the workers to maintain the place well.

The Chief Executive Officer of National Health Insurance Authroity, Dr. Lydia Dsane -Selby in an address said the current government has conceptualised the need for all to get healthcare has improved accessibility of the National Health Insurance cards.

She said Dome-Kwabenya needed a bigger and spacious NHIA space to serve its people.

The ceremony attracted many dignitaries including the Municipal Chief Executive of the area, Elizabeth Kaakie-Mann, the District Health Director and Regional Director of NHIA, pastors, imams and chiefs of the various areas.
