The Member of Parliament (MP) for Kwesimintsim in the Western Region, Dr. Prince Hamid Armah has distributed a range of essential items to local artisans in the Constituency.

The distribution was done in partnership with the Ghana Enterprise Agency (GEA) and the DPHA Foundation.

It was to support the entrepreneurship and job creation pillar of what the MP termed ‘The New Kwesimintsim Dream’.

The initiative provided tools and resources tailored to empower the artisans across diverse trades.

The tools included sewing machines, hairdressing kits, makeup kits, welding machines, spraying machines, auto mechanics tool kits, carpentry kits and sets of catering bowl among others.

The MP who doubles as the Deputy Minister for Works and Housing noted that the items are intended to enhance the productivity and livelihoods of the artisans, including welders, seamstresses, carpenters, auto mechanics, and hairdressers, thereby contributing to economic growth in the constituency.

The NPP’s Parliamentary Candidate for the Kwesimintsim Constituency in the upcoming general election, also stressed that the move was to boost the entrepreneurial spirit in the community and create job opportunities for the youth.

“It is expected to have positive impact on the local economy, as it would increase productivity and competitiveness among artisans,” he said.

“The engagement was both uplifting and insightful, reaffirming my commitment to sustainable development and expanding opportunities for our local artisans,” he added.
