Lilwin In Court Over Dangerous Driving

Lilwin

DRAMA UNFOLDED when actor, Kwadwo Nkansah aka Lilwin, was arrested after being discharged from hospital in Kumasi and arraigned on Monday morning.

The hilarious actor, who was charged with dangerous driving and negligently causing harm, was granted a GH¢50,000 bail with two sureties to be justified by the court.

The Asokore Mampong District Court, presided over by His Worship Samuel Buabin Quansah, did not take the plea of the actor. The case has been adjourned to June 27, 2024.

Road Accident

Lilwin’s Mercedes Benz was involved in a road accident with two other vehicles at Amakom in Kumasi on Saturday, May 25, 2024, which claimed the life of a three-year-old boy.

The actor, who seemed to have suffered leg injuries, was seen in a video being carried by other people into a waiting car to the hospital for treatment.

Appearance at Movie Premiere

Surprisingly, Lilwin later appeared at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) same day of the accident for the premiering of his latest movie titled, ‘A Country Called Ghana’.

The actor was seen moving round the venue, exchanging pleasantries with some selected dignitaries who attended the event.

Lilwin was said to have been hospitalised again after attending the movie premiere, as the bereaved family continued to appeal for justice to be served in the case.

Police Arrest

On Monday morning, the actor was apprehended by the police after he was discharged from hospital in Kumasi, and hauled to the Asokore Mampong District Court.

The actor was wearing a neck brace and gauze around his forehead while being helped by people to walk as he appeared in court, an indication that he has not fully recovered from his injuries.

Lilwin’s lawyers prayed to the court to grant their client bail, arguing that the actor was still injured, promising that Lilwin would appear in court when the need arises.

The prosecution did not oppose the lawyer’s appeal for Lilwin to be granted bail, so the court granted their wish and adjourned the case to June 27, 2024.
