The timber logs blocking the Kaase main road after the crash
DISASTER NEARLY struck when a truck loaded with big timber logs overturned at Kaase on Friday.
The timber logs instantly trapped two saloon cars that were plying the Ahodwo to Kaase main road at the time.
Fortunately, no deaths or serious injuries were recorded during the incident, DAILY GUIDE has been told.
However, the incident caused huge vehicular traffic within the Asokwa Municipality, as the road was blocked.
An eye witness, Ade Napoleon, said the truck was coming from the Ahensan direction around 12 noon.
Having reached the Guinness Junction, the driver tried to negotiate a curve to join the adjoining road.
Unexpectedly, the truck fell heavily on its side as it was negotiating the curve, causing fear among the people around.
The chain that was firmly tied to the logs got torn; hence the logs rolled down trapping two cars at the scene.
Ade Napoleon noted that the people onboard the two trapped cars saw the logs coming so they fled on time.
He stated that the two cars were slightly damaged, adding that the logs blocked the road and caused vehicular traffic for a while.
