Ghanaian actress, Lydia Forson has reacted to one of the latest posts by Gabby Asare Otchere Darko over the new taxes being imposed on Ghanaians.
The leading member of the New Patriotic Party, Gabby Otchere Darko earlier called out Ghanaians for refusing to pay taxes but always asking the government to fix the country.
In Gabby’s words, “Ghana’s development paradox. You say you want the country fixed. Yet, you are against raising revenue to get it fixed! Motives matter!”
However, Lydia Forson reacting to the post said politician cum lawyer referring to Gabby saying Ghanaians are against paying taxes because of how revenues are being handled in the country.
She emphasized that the citizens have no trust in the government when it comes to the collection of revenue as mismanagement of funds has been around for a long time.
She wrote, “This is an extremely disingenuous take Gabby.
Yes, MOTIVES MATTER and revenues that have been raised and managed MATTER TOO.
What we’re not going to do is pretend the distrust from the citizenry is unfounded; when we have enough records to prove otherwise. Good morning.”
