A tragic incident has shaken the peaceful community of Akrofrom in the Afigya Kwabre South District of the Ashanti Region, where a 34-year-old man, popularly known as “Stone,” was allegedly stabbed to death.
The lifeless body of the victim was discovered beneath a high-tension pylon in the community on the morning of Sunday, July 13, 2025. The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear.
In a telephone interview, the Assembly Member for the Apagya Electoral Area, Tony Nyantakyi, confirmed the incident. He said he received a distress call around 11:30 a.m. from one of his unit committee members, alerting him to the discovery.
“The exact cause of death is still unknown, but there was a small wound under his left chest. It appears he had tied the area with a sponge, possibly in an attempt to stop the bleeding,” Mr. Nyantakyi stated.
Police officers were quickly dispatched to the scene and have since taken custody of the body. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the events leading to the man’s death.
The shocking discovery has left residents of Akrofrom deeply unsettled, with many expressing fear and concern over safety in the area.
Community leaders and residents alike are calling on the police to intensify investigations and ensure that those responsible are apprehended and brought to justice.
