Abdulai Issah , the victim
The Dansoman Police are holding a man for allegedly pouring hot soup on a co-tenant who attempted to break up a fight between him and the wife.
The suspect Paa Kwesi Buabeng, according to reports, committed the act last Sunday at their residence at Glefe, near Dansoman.
Abdulai Isa, the victim, sustained injuries in the left eye, chest and back, and is currently receiving treatment at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
Buabeng and the wife identified only as Mummy fought frequently and usually other co-tenants in the house broke up the fight, the eyewitness told DAILY GUIDE.
“On January 15, 2017 at about 2pm, Kwesi Buabeng and the wife started a fight.
“We attempted to break up the fight but in the process, Buabeng poured the hot soup on Issah, so we immediately rushed him to the Korle- Bu Teaching Hospital before reporting the case to the police.”
Issah Abdulai, who is receiving treatment at the hospital, said that “on that fateful day, when they started the fight, I decided not to go there at all to break up the fight but another co-tenant called Maama Ama came to knock on my door and begged him to do something about the situation.
“At that point I publicly told her not to disturb me and that I was fed up with breaking up the fights between the two lovers.”
This statement, he said, did not go down well with the suspect who became peeved.
“My wife was preparing food outside and so Buabeng lifted the pot of soup on fire angrily and poured the content on me.”
The Dansoman Divisional commander, ACP Antwi Tabi, confirmed the story to DAILY GUIDE, added that Buabeng had provisionally been charged with causing harm and would be arraigned before court soon.
