Some jubilant 2017 award winners
The 2018 edition of the Ghana Manufacturing Awards (GMA), an annual prestigious awards ceremony that celebrates the outstanding performance in the country’s manufacturing sector, will take place on 24th May, this year at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra.
Twenty-seven (27) companies and eight individuals have been nominated for this year’s ceremony.
Richard Abbey Jnr., Events Director at Xodus Communications, organisers of the event, commented: “The GM Awards is your chance to come together to network, learn and celebrate various achievements with each other. These awards offer you the ideal place to meet decision-makers, partners and colleagues from the across the region and discuss how the last 12 months have affected you.”
According to him, there are many categories within the awards spanning the length, breadth and depth of manufacturing and each of these is judged by a panel of individuals independent of the industry, technical committee of impartial experts in different fields.
“The awards are entirely inclusive and are open to any individual, company focused on manufacturing, and it cuts across service providers, distributors, financial institutions, insurance, regulators, government agencies and more.”
Some of the eminent pacesetters in the manufacturing industry, who have been nominated for awards this year, include Accents & Arts, Asadek Group, Azar Chemical Industries Limited, Bfive Plus, Blow Chem Industries, Coca Cola Bottling Company Limited, Cosmo Seafoods Limited, Daily foods Limited, D.T Engineering, Ghandour Cosmetics, Guinness Ghana Brewery Limited, Inesfly Africa Limited, Interplast, Intelligent Card Production Systems.
Others are Joy Daddy Industries, Kane-em Industries Limited, Kasapreko Company Limited, Keda Ghana Ceramics Company Limited, McHammah Engineering Company Limited, Special Ice Company, Tropical Cables, Unilever Ghana, Universal Label and Packaging Services Limited and Weave Ghana Limited.
Xodus Communications has an established track record in awards organisation in Ghana.
It currently handles Ghana Oil & Gas Awards (fifth year running), Ghana Auto Awards (three annual awards successfully held), 40 Under 40 Awards (maiden edition held) and Ghana Insurance Awards.
The awards board comprises eminent personalities such as Prof David Atta Peters, Prof Nana Essilfie Conduah, Dr Ato Conduah, Dr Paul Kofi Fynn and Dr Ken Kwaku.
The annual event is endorsed by the Ministry of Trade and Industry, while compilation and validation is done by Ernst and Young.
