MoH Receives 100,000 Face Masks

Opay, an international financial technology company, has donated 100,000 face masks to the Ministry of Health (MoH) to aid the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

The donation formed part of the company’s corporate social responsibility towards protecting frontline workers whose contributions are critical to the well-being of citizens.

The Chief Director of the Ministry, Kwabena Boadu Oku Afari, expressed gratitude to the company which had to go through difficult situations amid restrictions to get the items delivered to the ministry.

Besides, he called for more collaborations between the ministry and other stakeholders, as more resources are needed to fight the pandemic.

“We need replenishment and that is why we appreciate this gesture very much. We believe that more will follow,” he stressed.

Joseph Yendork, the Wallet Expansion Director of the company, said the company, which intends to successfully enter the country’s digital financial services space, remained committed to strengthening its relationship with the ministry.

He commended government for its efforts to combat the virus which has so far been well kept under control per the standards of the World Health Organisation (WHO).
