Murder Suspect Caged

A 29-YEAR-old man, identified as William Ofori Atta, has been arrested by the Nkawie Divisional Police for allegedly shooting to death one Emmanuel Kwabena Boakye.

The suspect, according to the police, shot dead the now-deceased man during a robbery operation at the Radiance Filling Station in Mpasatia, located in the Ashanti Region.

The incident occurred at 12:45 p.m. on May 26, 2025, but the suspect went into hiding until he was eventually nabbed in Kukuom, in the Ahafo Region at 5:30 a.m. on June 21, 2025.

The Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe, at a press conference, said the suspect had admitted to shooting and killing the victim during interrogation.

He disclosed that “Suspect William Ofori Atta, aged 29, was apprehended at Kukuom in the Ahafo Region for his involvement in the robbery and killing of one Emmanuel Kwabena Boakye.

“The incident occurred on May 26, 2025, at approximately 12:45 p.m., at the Radiance Filling Station in Mpasatia, Ashanti Region, where the victim was employed.

“Following a coordinated investigation led by the Ashanti Regional Cyber Crime Unit, the Kukuom Police, and the Nkawie Divisional Command, the suspect was arrested from his hideout in Kukuom on June 21, 2025, at about 5:30 a.m.”

DCOP Teye-Cudjoe said a mobile phone, believed to belong to the deceased, was retrieved from the suspect and would undergo further forensic analysis as part of ongoing investigations, adding that the suspect would be arraigned soon.
