The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has announced plans of hosting a virtual musical concert in Accra to honour and celebrate the late former President Jerry John Rawlings.
Viewed as the concert which would bring together the best of talents on one stage and one venue, BEATWAVES gathered that the concert would feature over thirty performing Ghanaian artistes.
It will be streamed live on some selected television stations across the country as well as on all the social media platforms which include Facebook and YouTube.
The date, venue and all the artistes billed to thrill fans will be announced at a press briefing to be held soon.
The concert is expected to be attended by a number of personalities which includes ministers of state, and music stakeholders, among others.
According to MUSIGA, the concert is to pay homage to former President Rawlings for his contribution to the country’s music industry, adding that the current office being occupied by the union was provided by the late president.
The acting President of MUSIGA, Bessa Henry Simons, said the concert is being organised to appreciate the late President Rawlings for his contributions to the creative arts industry.
“He has done so much for the creative arts industry that we want to let the world know what he has done so that other people can emulate,” he added.
