Mzbel with Tina Mensah
Controversial songstress and well-known supporter of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mzbel, says she has been neglected by the party (NDC) after she was involved in an accident.
She made the disclosure in a social media post after some members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) paid her a visit.
Mzbel, born Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, sustained neck injuries after she was involved in an accident while riding a quad bike at the Labadi Beach in Accra.
Mzbel and her friend were riding quad bikes when she (friend) lost control and crashed into the singer’s bike. Mzbel’s quad bike somersaulted in the process. She was quickly rushed to a hospital in Accra. Latest photos of her suggest she sustained neck injuries.
The songstress revealed that none of her party members visited her to check if she was okay. The ‘16 Years’ hitmaker maintained that she did not even get a phone call or text message from any of the party members. Rather, it was members of the NPP who paid her a visit.
She is not only disappointed but she feels sad because she received all kinds of criticisms from the public because of NDC.
“For the love of my political party NDC, I offended a lot of people, jeopardized my career and was verbally abused, but that didn’t deter me to keep fighting for what I believed in. It’s sad that I’m temporarily stuck in bed now due to a minor accident and not even a phone call or text message from any of the people I genuinely supported, to wish me well… And the amazing fact is that Honourable Tina Mensah, mother for my constituency, the woman I strongly campaigned against, rather visited me yesterday when she heard about the accident,” she said in a post on Facebook.
She appreciated the members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who paid her a visit , adding, “I am learning my lessons and I’d also want to appreciate madam MP for the love and care, even though we were on different sides, God bless you… You are just too real…*Teary Eyes* If I had died, the story would have been different with big speeches and donations… Oh my people!”
