Mzbel has finally eaten a humble pie after swearing on her womb that she never mentioned Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyeman among persons who begged to protect Prophet Nigel Gaisie in an “illegal” case involving her.
She has admitted that she actually wanted to say something about the vice presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), but she didn’t get the chance “to say it well.”
This has exonerated NEWS-ONE’s (DAILY GUIDE) August 10 publication which quoted Mzbel for querying the first female running mate for the NDC.
“I want to tell Nigel Gaise is that he does not know anything about what is happening. So he shouldn’t think that he would say something to Tracey to vindicate himself because I am not done with him but it just that I have been suppressed. I am not done with him but the respect I have for some elders, especially our vice presidential candidate, the woman they picked and the elders who spoke to me so I made up my mind that I won’t mind him,” she clearly said in a Facebook video last week.
“Those of you who spoke for this guy Nigel, you said so many things that this guy has done that you defended him. Why are you still defending this boy knowing that he is not a good person? Why,” she queried in a second video.
After these videos, Prof. Naana Jane has been ctiticised heavily for not seeking justice for her fellow woman.
The MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, who was reacting to the paper’s publication on The Seat Show on Net2 TV, said, “This woman, Jane Naana Opoku-Agyeman, who people regard as a role model; when this woman was appointed as a running mate, all the women in Ghana became happy. They don’t know who she truly is. Someone who pleaded for Nigel Gaisie when he raped Mzbel. Someone who deals with such a criminal.”
But in a subsequent video, Mzbel made a shocking U-turn to deny her earlier statement, claiming that DAILY GUIDE lied in its publication about her.
“I can never ever sit somewhere and say that she was the one who begged on behalf of Nigel Gaisie; it is never true. It is a lie, I swear on my womb, I have never met Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyeman ever,” she added in a response to the paper and Ken Agyapong.
However, while speaking on Peace FM on Saturday, she came back to confirm the paper’s publication after she was asked about her encounter with Prof. Naana Opoku-Agyeman.
“That is lie. That time I had not even heard of her name before. But the way we were talking, there was something I wanted to say but I didn’t get the chance to say it well and I went to say I was looking at some elders, especially the vice presidential candidate, that they just picked, so I made up my mind that I won’t talk about Nigel’s issue again.”
