NADMO Calls For Calm Over Earth Tremor

The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has urged Ghanains to remain calm albeit the double earth tremors experienced in part of the capital on Monday, December 12, 2022.

According to NADMO, the earth tremors were not damaging as no cases of loss of lives or properties have been reported.

The disaster management organization has therefore called on all citizens to go about their normal duties without any fear.

In a statement issued by its Director-General, Eric Nana Agyemang-Prempeh, on Monday, December 12,“Homeowners in affected areas are encouraged to inspect their buildings for possible cracks and seek technical advice from Engineers and other building experts.”

According to NADMO, it is collaborating with the Ghana Geological Survey Authority (GGSA) to obtain the exact details of Monday’s tremors, particularly its magnitude and epicenter.

“The public will be duly informed of any development.”

The Organisation concluded by cautioning the public on the kinds of information shared on social media “in order to be safe and go about our duties without fear and needless panic”.
