Nana Agradaa Walks Free March 3

Nana Agradaa

Evangelist Nana Agradaa, born Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, will walk free on March 3, 2026, after qualifying for remission under Ghana’s prison regulations.

She began serving her sentence on July 3, 2025, following her conviction by an Accra Circuit Court on charges including charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretence.

The case was linked to a “money-doubling” scheme she promoted during services at her church, Heaven Way Champion International Ministry, in Weija.

She was initially sentenced to 15 years imprisonment with hard labour, a ruling that triggered national debate. But on February 5, 2026, the Amasaman High Court upheld her conviction and reduced the sentence to 12 months, describing the earlier punishment as excessive. The court also imposed a fine of 200 penalty units, about GH¢2,400.

With the revised sentence backdated to the date of conviction, Agradaa became eligible for Ghana’s remission policy, which allows inmates who demonstrate good conduct to serve two-thirds of their term.

Her lawyer, Richard Asare Baffour, has insisted that her early release follows standard prison procedures. He stressed that the remission is not a special concession but a routine application of the law for qualifying inmates.

Nana Agradaa’s case has remained one of the most talked-about in recent years, given her transformation from traditional priestess to Christian evangelist and her strong social media presence.
