Nana Charges Youth To Lead NPP Campaign

President Nana Akufo-Addo

PRESIDENT NANA Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has urged the youth to openly campaign for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to retain political power on December 7.

He said the upcoming election is about the future of the youth, and since the NPP has proven to have the welfare of the youth at heart, he is expecting the youth to rally behind the party.

In this regard, President Akufo-Addo has stated that he is expecting to see the youth in the country playing important roles in the campaign of the NPP presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

“The NPP administration has proven record of having the interest of the youth at heart, so I’m expecting the youth to openly declare and campaign for the party ahead of the elections.

“I want to hear the voices of the youth in this campaign period since the election is about the future of the youth. Let Ghanaians know where you want the country to head towards.

“Under the NPP government, the country has been put on the path of development, so we are moving forward with the NPP and we are not turning back with the NDC,” he declared.

President Akufo-Addo was speaking during the launch of the Youth and Employment Agency (YEA) Beneficiaries Forum, which was held in Kumasi, the capital of Ashanti Region.

According to him, John Mahama, the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), doesn’t have what it takes to properly steer the affairs of the country as president.

He said since the inception of the Fourth Republic, with the exception of the late President Mills, who unfortunately died, all the other presidents served for two terms except John Mahama.

“Rawlings served two terms, Kufuor served two terms and Nana Addo I’m also serving two terms, it’s only John Mahama who served for just one term because he failed to deliver,” he said.

According to him, former President Mahama failed woefully to perform in political office when he was given the chance, and he doesn’t see the NDC leader doing anything different now.

“Mahama is the only president who served for just one term. He couldn’t perform then and he cannot perform now,” President Akufo-Addo announced, attracting wild applause.

According to him, the election is between unsuccessful former President Mahama and successful Vice President Dr. Bawumia, and urged the electorates to vote for the NPP leader.

“The electorates should vote massively for Dr. Bawumia because he is the right person to add to the gains that my administration has made,” President Akufo-Addo emphasised.
