President Nana Akufo-Addo
PRESIDENT Akufo-Addo is scheduled to resume his nationwide tours on Tuesday, July 23, 2019, starting from the Western Region and ending in the Central Region.
Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, who made the announcement during the ministry’s bi-weekly press briefings yesterday, said the president would kick-off the tour in Shama in the Western Region, where is expected to cut sod for work to commence a second expansion factory work for Twyford Limited.
The minister revealed that the president would commission some Ghana Gas projects at Esiama in the Nzema East Municipality, meet chiefs and people in town hall meetings, as well as cut sod for a fish landing breach at Axim.
“President Akufo-Addo will also cut sod for work to commence on Prestea town roads before leaving for the Central Region,” he disclosed.
In the Central Region, the minister explained that the president’s itinerary would include sod cutting for the construction of a fish landing beach at Moree in the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District, durbars with chiefs and people, including the fishing community.
He said the president would return to Accra on Saturday, July 27, 2019, after the Panafest at the Cape Coast Stadium.
“This tour of the 7th and 8th regions this year is aimed at also giving the president an opportunity to hear first-hand from the people and commit to the remaining parts of the administration’s agenda,” he stated.
The president’s tours give him an opportunity to interact with citizens, stakeholders and opinion leaders, inspect ongoing development projects, as well as cut sod for new projects to commence.
