T.K. Braimah’s campaign posters firmly pasted on the KMAs dustbins in Kumasi
A CONTENDER for the Ashanti regional chairmanship position of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. T.K. Braimah, has pasted his campaign posters on dustbins in Kumasi.
The dustbins were provided by the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) as part of its ‘Operation Keep Kumasi Clean and Green’ campaign.
But Mr. Braimah, who seems to be hankering for power, has decided to use the dustbins as the tool for displaying his campaign posters.
The campaign posters have the portrait of Mr. Braimah, including inscriptions that the delegates should vote for him as NDC chairman in the region. Besides, the posters have the green, black, white and red colours of the NDC.
The posters have been placed around the area that the KMA has written the ‘Operation Keep Kumasi Clean and Green’ slogan.
Some of the residents of the city cannot fathom why Mr. Braimah pasted his posters on the dustbins. Some of them even said he (Braimah) had breached the bye-laws of the KMA with his campaign posters so he should be arrested to face the law.
Again, some of the people suggested that the KMA should order him to personally clear the posters of the dustbins. Other residents also said Mr. Braimah’s weird action clearly reflects how the NDC as a political party in general doesn’t regard the laws of the state.
The Ashanti regional branch of the NDC would go to the polls to elect its next batch of regional executives on 1st September, this year.
