NDC Mourns Jewel Ackah

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has paid tribute to the late Jewel Ackah.

The famous musician died on Saturday after succumbing to prolong illness, which had kept him bedridden for some time now.

Jewel Ackah was a proud member of the NDC and composed the party’s famous anthem, ‘Arise’.

During a big rally at Asawase to climax the NDC’s Ashanti regional version of the ‘Unity Walk’, the party paid glowing to the late highlife musician.

They started by observing a one-minute silence in his memory, which was followed by prayers for God to keep his soul well.

Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the NDC General Secretary, said the NDC has been hit with a heavy shock following Jewel Ackah’s sudden demise.

“We were hoping he will survive after many years illness but just this morning Jewel Ackah gave up the ghost, the party had been told by his family,” he revealed.

Asiedu Nketia recounted the many good works that Jewel Ackah did in the form of music to help transform the NDC to its current enviable status.

“He was the composer of our party’s melodious anthem, which is played at NDC congress and other important party events,” he disclosed.

According to him, the NDC has lost an irreplaceable figure, who during his heydays as a musician, played key roles to develop the party.
