Member of Parliament (MP) for New Edubiase, George Oduro, has presented an ambulance to the government hospital in his constituency.
The multipurpose ambulance, equipped with modern health equipment, including a defibrillator, chest compression equipment and oxygen supply, is expected to improve healthcare services delivery at the New Edubiase Hospital.
Handing over the ambulance to the hospital management, Mr. Oduro said the ambulance was funded through his personal savings and share of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) fund.
He called on the hospital management to ensure proper maintenance of the ambulance and pledged his commitment to support the welfare of the constituents.
The medical superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Allan Tietoore, who received the vehicle, thanked Mr. Oduro, who is also a Deputy Minister of Agriculture, for his generous donation.
According to him, the donation is the most single important contribution by any individual to the cause of improving healthcare delivery at the hospital.
The queen mother of New Edubiase, Nana Akua Dwum II, also lauded the MP for the kind gesture.
