Nigel Gaisie
The Founder & Leader of the Prophetic Hill Chapel, Prophet Nigel Gaisie, has surprisingly thrown his weight behind a Nigerian Instagram influencer, Raymond Abbas, known popularly as Hushpuppi, who was recently arrested in Dubai over allegations of fraud.
In a viral video circulating on social media, the Ghanaian ‘man of God’ said the notorious internet scammer deserves ‘praise’ because it is not easy to be successful, not taking into account how the Nigeria influencer made his money.
Hushpuppi, who posts photos of his life of luxury on private jets, was early June arrested by Dubai Police and Interpol amid claims of a £350million cyberscam.
According to investigators, he portrayed a billionaire lifestyle on social media in order to lure victims from all over the world.
He was arrested together with 12 other people in a raid over their alleged involvement in the cyberscam.
“The suspects targeted victims overseas by creating fake websites for well known companies and banks in a bid to steal victims’ credit card information and then launder the stolen money,” Brigadier Jamal al-Jalaf of Dubai Police CID was quoted to have said. He is also accused of committing fraud in Europe, America and Nigeria.
However, Nigel Gaisie has saluted Hushpuppi for his actions.
“I salute that guy Hushpuppi…the guy in Dubai who was allegedly arrested. I salute him. When you see a man that has come to the frontline, salute him. It is not easy to hustle and a lot of people are hustling but it is not easy to be successful,” he said in his endorsement of the alleged fraudster.
When asked if he didn’t care about the modus operandi Hushpuppi used to become successful, he replied, “No, no! It is not a matter of I don’t care about the modus. You see I am a utilitarian, there is something called utilitarian. Utilitarian is that I can slap you but if the slapping leads to positivity, God acknowledges it. And I can hug you but if the hug is to your distraction God doesn’t…how many people went to Dubai and made it? Little, are you getting what I am saying? If people don’t pay bills they talk anyhow. If people don’t have responsibilities, they talk anyhow. But if you have responsibilities…when is about 26th 27th you have people that are looking up to you, if you see that even a man has made a mistake but the man is a breadwinner to certain people, you will be measured and circumspective in your judgment and condemnation.”
For some months now, Nigel Gaisie has been in the news over allegations of him being a fake prophet. Dust is yet to settle on the plethora of allegations levelled at him, including sleeping with numerous women.
His praise of Hushpuppi has added a lot of criticisms to his calling as a man of God.
