The monarch of Nigeria’s Warri kingdom, Ogiame Ikenwoli Godfrey Emiko, has died from complications of Coronavirus, according to reports.
Multiple local Nigerian media reports monitored by DGN Online say he died about a week after celebrating the grand durbar of his fifth coronation anniversary.
According to reports, the 65-year-old king hosted former General Officer Commanding 6 Division Port Harcourt, Major-General Olu Irefin, in his palace weeks ago.
The Major-General, reports say, later died from Covid-19 complications.
News of the King, Olu of Warri’s death started making headlines on Monday evening, December 21, 2020. He was the 20th Olu of Warri and is survived by his wife, Olori Mary Emiko and three children.
