Zdravko Lugarusic
Former Asante Kotoko coach, Zdravko Lugarusic has insisted that he holds no grudge against his former employers.
The Croatian coach was shown the exit by the Dr Kwame Kyei-led administration after 11 games into the 2016/17 season with his last game being a home draw against Ebusua Dwarfs.
He told Class Sports on Tuesday, 30 January that: “Coaches are hired and fired. The management employed you and the management can decide whatever they want to do and when the decision is being taken, you have to accept it with no hard feelings because you don’t know what the future holds. You have to respect the decision because the management thinks they are employed to do what is best for the club and it is sometimes difficult because the decision sometimes may be wrong or good”.
The 54-year-old, however, bemoans the internal politics within the club that contributed to his short stint with the Porcupine Warriors.
“There is a lot of politics and groups within the club. You have somebody working for the future and trying to balance the team but the interested groups will not allow you to stay focused but there is a reason why we always love this job despite the pressure because it is part of the job,” he added.
