The management of the Royal Golf Club, Kumasi (RGCK) has denied any kidnapping incident at the Club.
In statement, RGCK said “the management is thus making efforts to contact the police to correct the erroneous description in their subsequent engagement with the media.”
It said “the Management wishes to inform all patrons of the club and the general public that security at the club continues to be at the highest level. We also wish to inform the public that RGCK normally closes to the general public by 8pm.”
“Additionally, the club is at Nhyieso and not Ahodwo as claimed by the story.”
Two Canadians were reportedly kidnapped on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, in the Ashanti Regional Capital, Kumasi.
They are Bailen Chitty, 19 years and Lauren Patricia Catherine, 20 years.
DGN Online understands that they were bundled into a vehicle at about 8:20 pm just when they had stepped out of their apartment at Silver Spring in Kumasi.
An Uber driver has since been arrested by Police in the Region in connection with the kidnapping.
