Napo leading the NPP members during Saturday’s walk
THERE WAS massive vehicular traffic on the streets of Kumasi when hundreds of New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters embarked on a health walk in the Manhyia South Constituency on Saturday.
Aside helping to boost the health and strength of the party members, the massive walk was also used to drum home the need for the leadership of the country to be changed on December 7, this year.
Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh aka ‘Napo’, the Manhyia South Member of Parliament (MP), led the teeming NPP members to walk through virtually all the entire neighbourhoods in the constituency.
The enthusiastic-looking NPP members sang melodious victory songs as they majestically walked on the streets, attracting shouts of “Change is coming” from people that lined up the streets to watch them.
The NPP members were also chanting “High Five” throughout the three-hour duration of the walk, and the move was to let the people know that Nana Akufo-Addo, the NPP flagbearer, is on the fifth position of the ballot paper.
Napo stated that the Manhyia South NPP wants to increase its votes in 2016 so the walk was geared towards making the party’s members fit and strong ahead of the demanding campaign activities that lie ahead.
He expressed delight about the massive patronage that the walk attracted, which is a strong indication that the NPP members are ready for the task ahead, announcing “We shall start our house-to-house campaign on Monday”.
Napo lamented the serious harm that President Mahama and the NDC government had caused to the state in eight years, stressing that Ghana needs the NPP now than ever to save it from total collapse.
