Nana Kwaku Duah
Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Council of Elders for Manhyia South Constituency in Kumasi, Nana Kwaku Duah, has cautioned NPP members to do away with internal strife.
He stated that any act of backbiting, hatred and internal strife could affect the government to lose focus, which could have adverse effects on the performance of the NPP government.
In this regard, Nana Kwaku Duah, who is also the chief of Kokoso in Kumasi, has admonished NPP members, especially those in Manhyia South Constituency, to embrace peace and unity.
He was addressing hundreds of NPP delegates at Manhyia South Constituency when they went to the polls on Saturday to elect their new constituency executives to manage the party.
The programme was graced by Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh (Napo), the NPP MP for Manhyia South, who is also the Education Minister, and other party stalwarts in the constituency.
Nana Kwaku Duah expressed his displeasure with how some party members at Manhyia South Constituency are scheming to create chaos in the party in recent times.
He particularly warned NPP members in the constituency who are plotting to bring Napo down to desist from doing so, reminding them that Napo is a huge asset for the NPP and Ghana in general.
According to him, Napo’s ingenuity has contributed to the introduction of the Free Senior High School (SHS) programme, which is intended to support the youth in the country.
Nana Kwaku Duah added that Napo needs the support of every NPP member so that his vision of bringing new innovations into the educational sector in the country would be materialised.
“The Free SHS is this current NPP government’s major achievement so far, therefore, Napo, who is the face of the new policy, needs our support so that he can continue to improve the educational sector. You should note that if we distract Napo instead of supporting him, it would have negative effects on the educational sector and it will affect all of us one way or the other,” Nana Kwaku Duah cautioned.
