Paul Amaning second from right in a pose with some of the NABA Executives
A group called Nana Bawumia Movement (NABA) has received the endorsement of the Eastern Region branch of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
They were received over the weekend by the First-Vice Chairman of the NPP, Alhaji Umar Bondinga, who advised them to work hard to make the party stronger.
“I would like to advise them not to pursue anyone’s interest especially when the party will soon open nomination for members to contest constituency primaries. If we hear something like that in the region, we will not allow the group to proceed,” he warned.
Paul Amaning, national Chairman of NABA, said the group was only interested in projecting the good works of President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Bawumia and added that they won’t support any aspirant for the 2020 parliamentary elections.
“We do not want to support anyone but after primaries, the winnable candidates will receive massive support from the group like what we did prior to the by-election at Ayawaso Wuogon. It is our duty to campaign for them to win 2020”.
“Currently we have close to 15,000 members in the country with Greater Accra dominating. If anyone wants to open a branch in any of the constituencies, because we do not want it to conflict with the role of the current national executives of the ruling party, that person should follow our procedure by letting the constituency executives endorse it before we can agree to work with them,” he added.
