The Northern Regional Executives of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) have exposed former President John Mahama on what they have described as blatant lies and pure propaganda during his recent tour of the Northern Region.
During his five days tour of the Northern Region, the former President is reported to have discredited the Akufo-Addo government, accusing it of abandoning all the projects started by him in the region during his administration.
Addressing some members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the former President said major infrastructural projects initiated by his government have all been abandoned by the NPP government and left to rot for reasons best known to the ruling government.
However, the Northern regional executives of the NPP refuted all the claims of the former President, describing them as lies and poorly prepared propaganda to malign the good governance demonstrated by the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government, including their various initiatives and flagship programmes aimed at improving the lot of the Ghanaian populace, in his quest to reclaim his depleted political ambitions.
At a press conference organized by the Northern Regional Secretariat of the ruling NPP led by its Regional Communications Director , Mohammed Issah, it was revealed that the Fufulso-Sawla road, a $157million facility was partly diverted to do the Busunu-Daboya road after taking off some aspects of the contract agreement.
According to Mohammed Issah, the contract was awarded to yet another family member of the former President, Peter Mahama.
With regard to the former president’s comment of ensuring postings for all nursing graduates, the regional communications director said it’s a shame and would be unfortunate for anybody to believe such a promise, especially considering the fact that it’s coming from a former president under whose watch nurses’ allowance was cancelled and their postings denied.
According to the regional communications director, it would be disastrous for Ghanaians to return power to the NDC, saying the party has nothing sound and concrete to offer Ghanaians that would improve their living conditions.
Meanwhile, the executives of the party are calling on former President John Mahama to apologize to the people of the north for the series of tales he peddled against the President and his Vice during his tour of the region.
