One person has been confirmed dead while another is battling for life following a road traffic accident involving a motorcycle and a Toyota Voxy vehicle at Offinso Deppaul Junction in the Ashanti Region.
The accident occurred on Saturday, January 31, 2026. The deceased, whose identity is yet to be established, reportedly sustained fatal injuries.
Eyewitnesses told DAILY GUIDE that the Toyota Voxy, with registration number AS 6119-25, was attempting to overtake another vehicle when it collided with the motorcycle carrying two riders.
As a result of the impact, both riders were thrown off the motorcycle. One of them suffered severe injuries and died shortly after being rushed to a hospital in Offinso, while the other remains in critical condition and is receiving treatment.
Police have since taken charge of the situation and commenced investigations into the incident.
The tragic accident has left residents of the area in shock, with authorities once again appealing to motorists to observe road safety regulations and exercise caution, especially when overtaking.
