The National Women Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Otiko Afisa Djaba, has called on Ghanaians to join her to pray for the country’s deliverance from the “evil and demonic” machinations of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) government in a one-week prayer and fasting session, beginning Monday, September 26, to October 2, 2016.
According to her, the prayer and fasting session had been necessitated by the “mock burial” of the NPP presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, during the NDC’s manifesto launch in Sunyani, which she termed as nothing short of a demonic activity.
She has therefore, urged all well-meaning Ghanaians to join her in praying to thwart all evil machinations against Nana Addo’s life.
“So because of politics Nana Addo should be buried alive? Because somebody wants to remain president by force they should kill Nana Addo? This is a dangerous phenomenon. It is sacrilegious and so we should condemn it and pray against it. How come they didn’t bury Akua Donkor or Ayariga or Nduom?” Otiko queried.
She continued, “In Ghana, our culture and traditions are against burying anybody alive. This cannot be a joke as Kofi Adams is claiming. Their witchcraft and demonic plans have been exposed.”
The NPP National Women Organiser explained that at the manifesto launch, the General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, revealed that the choice of Sunyani for the event was significant because the word “Sunyani” means “graveyard of the elephant.”
This, she added, is no excuse to bury the NPP presidential candidate whilst he is alive, simply because he leads a party that has the elephant as its symbol.
“Are there no adults in the NDC? Has it come to this?” she asked.
According to Otiko, the mock burial of Nana Akufo-Addo in Sunyani was carefully planned by the bigwigs of the NDC and deliberately executed by, with the full backing of President Mahama “to ensure that Nana Akufo-Addo is killed in the spiritual realm, before it manifests in the physical.”
She noted, “God being so good, He exposed them and sent down the heavy rains on the day to scuttle all their plans.”
The NPP Women Organiser further stated that despite the evil machinations of President Mahama against Nana Akufo-Addo, including “the forceful foisting of sickness and death on him (Nana), today they claim he is a murderer, tomorrow they say he’s a dictator. They say he is sick, and now they want Nana dead. Is the NDC now God? It is only God who gives life and takes it. So anyone who tries to play God by trying to end Nana Addo’s life should stop or else the wrath of God will be visited on them. All of these will not work because God is just.”
Otiko said of the mock burial, “It is a bad example;” and she wondered why the media, the chief of Sunyani, the Brong-Ahafo Traditional Council, Peace Council and civil society organizations had not come out to forcefully condemn the act.
She again wondered why “these desperate acts” by President Mahama and the NDC had not attracted the condemnation of church leaders, Muslim clerics and the Council of State.
Nonetheless, the NPP outspoken woman stated, “We will go ahead to fast and pray for our country. Too many demonic activities have taken place under this NDC government over the last eight years or so, and it is time God cleanses and heals our land. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Ghanaians are suffering. Why would God’s eyes be on us when the leadership of this country opts for evil?
“We in the NPP will pray to God to deliver Ghana from the hands of President Mahama and his NDC government, and install a God-fearing President in 2017 in the person of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, because our battle is still the Lord’s,” she stated.
