The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has pledged his unwavering support for the John Agyekum Kufuor (JAK) Cup involving Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Ashgold slated for the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi this Sunday.
The game is in honour of the former president John Kufuor.
It also forms part of activities marking his 80th birthday.
Otumfuo is expected to attend the event organized by Primeval Media.
The Asantehene told a team from Primeval Media at the Manhyia Palace during a courtesy call a few days ago that he attaches importance to the game because of the contributions of the former president to the development of Ghana and Kotoko.
The Asantehene urged all football loving fans and others to throng the Baba Yara Stadium to make the event memorable.
During a press conference in Kumasi yesterday, representatives of the clubs promised to win Sunday’s game.
Officials of Primeval have promised to deliver a top class event.
Earlier, the Kumasi Mayor Osei Asibey Antwi and Elizabeth Agyemang, Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, pledged to make the event successful.
