Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and King Mswati III
The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) will stage a large-scale clean-up exercise on Saturday, June 21, to prepare the city for the official visit of King Mswati III of Eswatini.
The esteemed visit of the Head of State and King of the Kingdom of Eswatini (formerly Swaziland) to Kumasi follows an invitation by Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The monarch is due in Kumasi from June 24 to 28, 2025.
The KMA has, therefore, directed all shops and businesses in the Central Business Districts to close from 6:00am to 12:00pm to allow for full participation in the exercise.
“The goal is to ensure Kumasi is pristine and ready to welcome the esteemed royal guest,” the Assembly said in a statement issued by the KMA Public Relations Unit.
Residents and businesses have been urged to take part in the clean-up exercise, which the KMA says is an opportunity to showcase the city’s culture, hospitality, and civic pride.
