Medikal and Paradise
Ghanaian internet sensation, Big Paradise, has tipped hip-hop rapper, Medikal, to win the ultimate Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Artiste of the Year, 2026.
Paradise shared a picture of himself and Medikal on stage on X under the caption, “Artiste of the Year”, generating varied opinions in the comments section.
Medikal has been dominating headlines in 2025-2026 as his stadium concert, “Beyond Kontrol”, earned him an international nomination for Concert of the Year at the 43rd International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) scheduled for May 17, 2026.
This marks a significant milestone for Ghanaian hip-hop, showcasing the country’s growing music industry. His single, ‘Shoulder’, was a massive hit, dominating Ghanaian airwaves and streaming platforms throughout 2025.
Medikal claims the song “saved” Ghana’s music scene, but fans are debating its impact, pointing to other popular songs like Black Sherif’s ‘Iron Boy’ project. Medikal also released his album ‘Disturbation 2’ in October 2025, featuring collaborations with top artistes like Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, and Olivetheboy.
The album showcases his evolution as an artiste and storyteller. In an interview, Medikal shared that he doesn’t stress about his songs going viral; he’s happy if just a few people appreciate his music.
