THE LEADERSHIP of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Tema East Constituency in the Greater Accra Region has buried its differences and resolved to work together for victory in the 2020 polls.
By this development, the Titus-Glover and Benjamin Ashietey factions which threatened the party’s chances were no more—the outcome of a reconciliation meeting involving the feuding factions and other party supporters.
In an interview with DAILY GUIDE, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Ishmael Ashietey, appealed to the Member of Parliament (MP) of the area, Daniel Titus-Glover and Benjamin Armah Ashietey not to engage in any acts that would divide the supporters.
He urged them to use the unity achieved to close the divide which cropped up after the last primary election.
Mr. Ashitey warned against activities that were becoming detrimental to the progress of the party in the constituency.
On his part, Nene Ofoe Agbadagba, chairman of the party in the constituency, was optimistic the reconciliation and the elimination of acrimony among the supporters would pave way for a serious campaign for victory in the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections.
He urged the constituency executives to ensure that the spirit of togetherness existed among them at all times.
The Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) of Tema, Felix Nii Mensah Anang-La, also urged the executives and the supporters to preach peace since that was the only way to make positive impact instead of wasting their time on unproductive ventures.
He advised the foot soldiers not to undermine each other but to do all they could to ensure that NPP won in the December 7 polls.
