Some of the chiefs at the press conference
The Eastern Nzema Traditional Council in the Western Region has made it clear that Awulae Amihere Kpanyinli II, remains the gazetted Paramount Chief of Atuabo.
The Council has, therefore, called on the police to as a matter of urgency investigate and bring to book some individuals creating tension and disrupting the peace of the area.
About six months ago, the Paramount Chief had to flee for his life and seek “asylum” elsewhere because of some chieftaincy clashes between him and his direct nephew, one Awulae Blay.
The traditional council, at a press conference in Takoradi, appealed to the Paramount Chief to come back to the area, to continue his development agenda.
Nana Etwe Kpanyinli VI, Chief of Anyinase and a member of the King Makers of the Paramountcy said, “We the Traditional Council had not sat on any such case of destoolment or declared that Awulae Amihere Kpanyinli II is not our Paramount Chief.”
Nana Kwabena Bentum II, Chief of Salman, described the current happenings in Atuabo as uncalled for and needing urgent government intervention to end the growing tension in the area.
He called on the law enforcement agencies to deal with all offenders within the paramountcy.
Nana Simali Kpanyinli V, Chief of Anwia, said the police in particular must ensure that peace and sanity prevail in the area to propel development.
The chiefs were accompanied by other citizens of the Eastern Nzema Traditional Area.
