Veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie, has dismissed fresh rumours claiming he is dead, describing the reports as false.
Speaking to Vanguard on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, the 78-year-old said, “I’m alive and will die when my maker calls me home.”
The latest hoax alleged he was rushed to the hospital and died, with claims his son confirmed it online. Edochie said this is about the seventh time he has been falsely declared dead.
The respected actor, who turns 79 on March 7, added that longevity runs in his family, noting that his father lived to 96.
