Eric Ashong (R) presenting the items to an inmate at the leprosarium

A businessman, Eric Ansong, popularly known as Japan Burger, has donated some assorted items to the aged at Kwahu-Aduamoah in the Eastern Region and also to the leprosarium inmates at Weija, Accra, to mark his 51st birthday.

The items, worth over GH¢10,000, included bags of sachet water, toilet roll, cartons of bottled water, cooking oil, cartons of milo, cartons of milk, assorted drinks and cartons of canned fish.

The rest were boxes of biscuits, bags of rice, and cartons of soap.

About 70 years old people at Aduamoah benefited from the benevolence of Japan Burger, and it also marked the 21st year in succession that he was donating to the leprosarium.

Presenting the items, Mr. Ansong, who deals in building materials at Kantamanto in Accra, said the inmates of the leprosarium are human, just as any other individual in the country, and needed to be taken good care of since they are vulnerable.

A member of the Lepers Aid Committee, who received the items on behalf of the inmates, called on individuals and organizations to come to the aid of the Weija Leprosarium in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.

He expressed gratitude to Mr. Ansong for the support being given to the less privileged in society on a yearly basis.
