THREE SUSPECTED armed robbers were killed in Tema following a fierce gun battle with the police.
The robbers fled from a scene of an armed robbery in Accra and the police pursued them to Tema where three were shot dead.
Two other suspects have been apprehended by the Anti-Armed Robbery Squad of the Accra Regional Police Command.
The incident occurred last Saturday midnight around Kaiser Flats at Community Four in Tema.
The bodies of the suspects had been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue in Accra pending autopsy.
Confirming the incident to DAILY GUIDE, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Effia Tenge, spokesperson of the Accra Regional Police Command, said that the police operation started from Accra to Tema when the suspects engaged the Anti-Armed Robbery Squad in a gun battle.
She said the suspects arrested were assisting police in their investigations but declined to release their names for security reasons.
