SINCE the establishment of the church in over 100 years ago, the Emmanuel Congregation of the Presbyterian Church at Akyem – Akoasi under the auspices of Kwahu Presbytery, has experienced its first mass wedding solemnisation of holy matrimony three catechists and their wives over the weekend.
The ceremony which was steered by the area head Rev Mark Karikari, saw members from Akedewaso, Tweapease, Nwinso, Ntronang among others to witness the glamorous event.
The wedded couples were, Afari Stephen
Bediako Gyan & Lydia Brepo, Ayenor Sallah Gordon & Comfort Boatemaa and Gyamfi Francis & Asima Naomi.
Rev Eric Agyapong who gave the sermon quoted his words from 1Cor. 7:1-11, “where lovers may live together as one till death ascenders”
He advised the couples to acts of denigration and insults and also “both should satisfy each other sexually to enhance the amusement of the relationship.
Senior ministers of the church under the Akoasi District were also present at the ceremony to catch glimpse as well as family and friends among relatives were in their numbers to triumph their happiness.
The area head, Rev Karikari furthermore added that this won’t be a thing in the blue moon but will be continued if the need arises.
After the historic ceremony marriage certificates were presented to the couples by the church by Madam Juliana Karikari.
