Prophet D. Y. Donkoh Apologises Over Shatta Wale’s Death Prophecy

Prophet and counsellor, Daniel Yaw Donkoh, has apologised to the public after his prophecy about the death of musician Shatta Wale caused outrage and led to his arrest.

In a statement released on Saturday, July 27, 2025, the prophet said he was sorry for the fear and confusion his words caused. He explained that the prophecy was spiritually inspired but never intended to cause panic or emotional harm. “I find it necessary to offer an apology,” he said.

His apology came two days after he was arrested at his home on Friday night, July 25.

The arrest followed a viral video in which Prophet Donkoh claimed he had seen two visions about Shatta Wale — one where he survived an attack and another where he was shot by three men.

The video sparked a strong reaction from Shatta Wale, who criticised the prophecy on social media and called on the police to take action. He gave the police one week to respond and warned that he would take non-violent action if nothing were done.
