The president of the Qatar 2022 Girls Village Project and Football Academy, Yahaya Alhassan, has sent a congratulatory message to the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Qatar national football team for winning  their first ever Asian cup.

In an interview, Alhassan described the importance of the victory on many perspectives- one, Qatar as no more pushovers in world football, also, the mental strength of what he called the gallant men of the Qatar football team despite playing in an intimidating but hostile environment.

He told reporters “It was more special in the sense that, despite the blockade resulting in the inability of their cherished fans to travel and cheer the team, the Felix Sanchez Bas men beat the four times champion Japan to clinch the historic trophy.”

Alhassan praised the Qatar-African relation saying, ‘’The Qatar-Africa friendship has indeed come to stay.’’

He expressed his appreciation to Qatar for improving the lives of many across the African continent through the Qatar Foundation including other scholarship programs to promote education in developing countries.

The Qatar Girls Village Project and Football Academy would be located at Tampion in Northern Ghana, and would provide education and welfare to needy girls and children, while  the academy is aimed at  unearthing football talents of  needy children  from Ghana, Togo, Cote d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso.

The promotion of French and Arabic would be esteemed in a cultural exchange program.
