Queen Mother Supports Dzodze Radio Stations with PPEs

A queen mother in Dzodze, Mama Agbaledzokpui II through her foundation has supported markets and radio stations at Dzodze in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta Region with PPEs and other items to prevent COVID-19 infection.
The five radio stations and markets were supported with facemasks, hand sanitisers, liquid soap and paper towels to augment what they had in preventing the infection from the novel coronavirus.

The donation according to the queen mother was her own small way to support the fight against the dreaded coronavirus pandemic which is still infecting and taking lives in the region and the nation as a whole.
She said considering the rate of infection, it was obvious that government alone could not adequately support all groups and individuals as “the government will first have to adequately supply the health workers with resources before the general population. So we all in our communities who have the means must support.”

She added that even for the health workers, the rate of disposal of PPEs means that even if they had millions of PPEs they will run out in no time. Hence individuals, groups, donors, developing partners among others should support key groups who had a higher exposure to infection to reduce the spread.

She said the Mama Agbaledzokpui II Foundation reached out to markets and the radio stations because “We understand how prone our women and children are to this virus while they go about their businesses in the market. We also acknowledge the role of the media houses in town in creating awareness and education about the disease.”
She was assisted by the reigning beauty queen of Mama Deza Pageantry, Miss Rebecca Agbleke and her runner up, Miss Jennifer Adovlo.

The two beauty queens of the area said, “We would continue to support our communities during this pandemic and we call on all sons and daughters of the land to join in the fight because we are in this together. Let’s stick to the safety protocols.”

The liquid soap and sanitisers were made by women trained under a vocation and women empowerment project of the Mama Agbaledzokpui II Foundation.
