Rebecca Donkor
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Make-Up Ghana, Rebecca Donkor, has been honoured at the 2019 edition of the Forty Under 40 Awards ceremony in Accra.
She received the special honorary award last weekend for her efforts in beauty advocacy and consumer education in past year.
Rebecca is one of the few names carving a niche for herself in the beauty and make-up industry. She has, in the past few years, helped raised standards in the beauty industry.
These include her organisation of the Ghana Make-Up Awards and the African Beauty Week, which bring together some of the most celebrated beauty brands on the African continent to exhibit their products in Accra.
“A few years ago, it was just an idea to be at the forefront of empowering the Ghanaian beauty industry towards excellence.
Our vision is for the beauty industry to reach its full economic potential, creating, transformation across Africa through world-class practitioners and entrepreneurs. Now, this very accolade ? an icing on the cake, assures me that although I’ve barely scratched the surface, the toil will definitely pay off,” she said after the awards ceremony.
“For all the doors that were banged in my face, the long nights and sweats that birthed the current me, I’m very grateful and so poised for the bigger storms ahead. A million thank you to the organisers of the Forty Under 40 Awards for this incredible honour,” she added.
The Forty under 40 Awards is a ceremony that honours and celebrates a cross-section of the nation’s most influential and accomplished young business leaders under age 40.
It covers a wide range of industries that are committed to business growth, professional excellence and community service and have risen up the ranks of their companies or industries at a relatively young age.
