Isaac Ohemeng Prempeh
The Presiding Member (PM) for Atwima Nwabiagya District Assembly, Isaac Ohemeng Prempeh, has passionately appealed to chiefs in the country to quickly release lands for the Nana Akufo-Addo administration to implement the ‘one district, one factory’ policy.
The policy was one of the major campaign messages of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo during the 2016 elections.
Mr Ohemeng Prempeh stated that it was important for the chiefs to liaise with the various assemblies in the release of lands to implement the policy, which is very popular in the country.
According to him, the Minister of Trade and Industry, Alan Kyerematen told the Appointments Committee that the implementation of the ‘One District, One Factory’ policy of the NPP administration would start in six months’ time.
Hon. Ohemeng Prempeh told DAILY GUIDE, stated that the early release of lands by the chiefs would go a long way to avert issues of land litigation and other possible challenges that have the potential of impeding the implementation of the policies.
He therefore reiterated his call on traditional leaders, who are the custodians of lands, to begin to release lands for the various assemblies so that proper documentations could be made.
Hon. Ohemeng Prempeh, who is well respected in Atwima Nwabiagya, observed that the ‘one district, one factory’ policy has the potential of providing jobs to reduce social vices among the youth.
In this regard, the PM, who is a product of University of Education, Winneba Campus, urged chiefs in the country to take full advantage of the intended project, stressing that the policy is feasible.

Meanwhile, many Assembly members at Atwima Nwabiagya, are rooting for Isaac Ohemeng Prempeh, to be appointed as the new chief executive of the assembly.
Spokesperson of the assembly member, Foster Okyere said Ohemeng Prempeh, who is development-oriented person, has united the assembly members and made the NPP popular in the area.
