Resolve Impasse Now …Ambassador Quarcoo Tells Ministry, GFA

Ray Quarcoo

Goodwill sports ambassador Ray Quarcoo has made a passionate appeal to the country’s football authorities to bury any differences brewing between them as a matter of urgency.

To him, the current rancor defeats the ideals of sportsmanship which are fair play, togetherness and development.

He cautioned that if the struggle persists, Ghana will be the eventual loser since the two parties will not be in power forever.

Ambassador Quarcoo, a former Black Stars Management Member, who chaired the 6th FA Cup Awards Gala last Friday said “In my opinion, the deep-rooted tension between the two bodies-Ministry and GFA is infantile and therefore must be resolved as a matter of urgency.”

“We need to go back and pick lessons from how Ohene Djan, Ghana’s first Sports Director run sports in the past, otherwise we should forget about qualifying for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.”

The former Ghana Amateur Boxing Federation (GABF) president added that “The earlier we put our house in order, the better. How do we expect the Black Stars to do well, when the two authorities expected to work as a team to ensure victory continue to fight?. Ultimately and certainly, Ghana will be the loser should this fight persist.”
